Learn more about the Sex Content Score (SCS) that each story I publish on Tumblr is given. On this page you can learn more about the formula that calculates the score and what aspects influence it.

****🍆 Sex Category Tags:
<aside>
Missionary, Doggy Style, Female Orgasm, Pregnancy Kink… every tag applied to categorize stories on the Sex Categories page adds 1000 points to a story’s SCS.
Having many tags is an indicator that the sex part of a story is varied and longer which is why this has a big impact on a story’s SCS.
</aside>
****🥵 Sex Intensity Rating
<aside>
Every story on the blog is rated Vanilla, Medium, Steamy, Wild or Unconventional. Steamy, Wild and Unconventional adds several thousand points to a story’s SCS. Vanilla adds 0.
The sex intensity rating is already in itself a good way to compare stories, but the SCS makes it possible to compare stories that have the same intensity rating.

****🔢 Word Count
<aside>
The fact that a story is long does not mean the sex is hotter. In fact the number of Sex Category Tags is a much better indicator of how much smut you’re going to get in a story.
Fluff makes hot sex better though, and the total word count of a story does have an impact. By default, the word count divided by 1.5 is added to a story’s SCS.

****❤️ Sweet & Plot-driven Stories
<aside>
Many stories – often longer ones – are categorized on this website as “Sweet/cute” or “Plot-driven”. This is an indication that of the total word count a significant amount is fluff.
When a story has been assigned at least one of these categories the Word Count portion of the SCS is significantly reduced – it’s divided by a much larger number.

****❎ Short Story Bonus
<aside>
Because the number of different Sex Category tags is a better indicator of the quality of the sex in a story than the actual word count, stories are rewarded bonus points for having more tags when they are of shorter length. For example, a story that is less than 1000 words receives twice as many points per Sex Category tag as one that is 8000+ words.

****🏳️🌈 Gay Stories
<aside>
Gay stories are slightly favored over straight ones. This is because I tend to write gay sex as more explicit. Gay stories have their total SCS multiplied by 1.2.

****👍 Likes on Tumblr
<aside>
It is my theory that when a story is more “liked” than others it’s because the sex is better/hotter or because there are nuances to the sexual tension in it that can’t be captured through other influences. While the impact is very minor compared to other aspects, a story’s “likes” on Tumblr is added to the SCS multiplied by 5.
</aside>
I may make adjustments to the formula in the future. And thanks to the fact that likes on Tumblr influence the score it is never fixed. Visit the Sex Content Score page to browse and compare stories by their current SCS.
